This is a full day tour from 9AM-4PM. Tour starts from Ruteng & ends in Ruteng.

Program

At 9AM, your professional Go Indo tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or homestay in Ruteng. To explore our culture and traditions in a meaningful way, we begin the day with a visit to Ruteng Pu’u village. Here, your guide will share the rich history of Manggarai and Ruteng, explaining about traditional Manggarai architecture, customs and beliefs. You’ll participate in a brief, authentic ceremony inside the sacred communal house, a customary blessing for all visitors of Pu’u.
Next, we head to the heart of Ruteng, to see daily life in town, visit Pasar Inpres, Rutengs biggest traditional market, and visit the oldest cathedral where you can stroll through its serene garden as well. For lunch, we head to the communal house in Nekang village, where you’ll enjoy a homemade meal with the big family of Go Indo’s founders. Afterward, you’re invited to join a demonstration of coffee making and mat braiding, two local crafts. Don’t hesitate to try your hand at these skills! We’ll visit the garden to share insights into Manggarai agriculture. Throughout, your guide will provide insight into daily life in a typical Manggarai household, and we’ll walk through Nekang village to experience its warm community firsthand.
We’ll end the tour with a short walk to a scenic panorama viewpoint. Afterward, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or homestay. Feel free to ask questions, connect with the villagers, and fully immerse yourself in the spirit of Ruteng!

Payment arrangement

Receive all information by filling in the booking form above. The booking form is non-binding, meaning that after you click ‘send’ you do not make a reservation yet. You’ll receive an email from info@go-indo.com with the complete price, itinerary and list of accommodations. If satisfied, you can reserve the tourpackage by paying a deposit(20% of the complete travel sum).

Reservation for a tourpackage chosen from ‘Sailing Komodo’ and/or ‘Overland tours’: To make a reservation pay the deposit of 20% of the complete travel sum to Go Indo. Thirty days before departure the complete travel sum must be paid to Go Indo.

Reservation for a tourpackage chosen from ‘Day tours’ and/or ‘Special activities’: To make a reservation pay the deposit of 20% of the complete travel sum to Go Indo. 24 hours before the day tour or special activity starts, the complete travel sum must be paid to Go Indo.

Cancellation policy

For cancelling a tourpackage chosen from ‘Sailing Komodo’ and/or ‘Overland Tours’: In case you would like to cancel your reservation, please let us know at least sixty days before departure. In this case your deposit(20% of the complete travel sum) will be fully returned to you. In case you already paid the complete travel sum and cancel at least sixty days before departure, Go Indo will return 100% of your payment. In case you cancel within sixty days before departure, Go Indo cannot return the deposit due to booked reservations & travel preparations.

For cancelling ‘Day tours’ and ‘Special activities’: please let us know 7 days in advance. In this case your deposit(20% of the complete travel sum) will be fully returned to you. In case you already paid the complete travel sum and cancel at least seven days before the day tour or special activity starts, Go Indo will return 100% of your payment. In case you cancel within seven days before the day tour or special activity starts, Go Indo cannot return the deposit due to travel preparations.

Travel insurance

We suggest all travellers to always travel to Indonesia with a travel insurance from their home country. Travel insurances cover unexpected expenses and this way you can travel with peace of mind.
