Boat in Komodo National Park:
Your boat, which will sail you through Komodo National Park, has two levels.
Below deck is a dining area where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Unlimited mineral water, coffee and tea are available. During the day, the cooking crew will prepare various types of fruit and snacks. At the flanks of the boat are two private cabins. Bathroom with freshwater shower and toilet are below deck as well. We recommend sleeping without AC at night so that the generator can be turned off. This way, you’ll only hear the sound of the soft waves. On top deck are lounge-chairs and beanbags for sunbathing and relaxing. The boat is equipped with a speedboat that’ll take you to smaller islands without damaging the corals. Life jackets and life buoys are available on the boat. Your experienced captain knows exactly where and when it is favorable to sail, based on the currents and weather conditions.

In 1 hour and 45 minutes you fly directly from Bali to the largest city of Flores: Maumere. You will be picked up from Maumere Airport by the driver and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to snorkel in the sea in front of the resort or relax by the pool. Make sure you are well rested because the next day you will explore this green island in the Nusa Tenggara Timur province of Indonesia.
Day 2. Maumere – Wuring – Lepo Lorun – Paga beach – Koka beach – Moni
After breakfast the journey embarks towards central Flores. On the way you will stop at a traditional village ‘Wuring’, a fishing village of the ethnic ‘Bugis’. The Bugis are a sea people originally from the island of Sulawesi. For centuries they sailed the coasts of Indonesia and they settled where fish trade and markets came together. Here too, in Flores, they still live in their traditional houses on stilts and make a living from the fish trade. After this you will stop at ‘Lepo Lorun’, where you can see the traditional weaving process of the local population. Next, stop for lunch at Pantai Paga, a beautiful white sandy beach with several dining options. You will also visit Pantai Koka, another paradise beach where you can swim, sunbathe and relax. After this first day of travel, full of impressions, you will arrive in Moni, a lovely mountain village near the Kelimutu volcano, where you will spend the night in a quiet homestay.
Day 3. Moni – Kelimutu vulcano – Thutubhada – Riung
Early in the morning you will leave for the Kelimutu volcano around 4 am. After a walk of about 30 minutes you reach the highest volcano top with a panoramic view of three crater lakes. Getting up early is totally worth it: In the east, the sun slowly climbs over the sacred crater lakes of Kelimutu. With the light of the sunrise, the three different colors of the three lakes become visible. You can walk back to the hotel via the local plantations or ride with your driver to your homestay for a well- deserved breakfast.
After this you continue the journey to a rocky beach filled with blue stones and the village of Thutubhada where the Nagekeo inhabitants still live the way their ancestors used to live. Along the way you will enjoy the beautiful view of the Iya, Meja and Ebulobo volcanoes. The final destination of this day is the coastal town of Riung where you will spend the night.
Day 4. Riung – National park Pulau tujuh belas – Riung
Off the coast of Riung lies a hidden group of islands: the National Park Pulau Tujuh Belas or ‘the 17 islands’. The national park is the ultimate destination for snorkeling enthusiasts: pristine soft and hard coral reefs adorn the ocean floor, inhabited by countless fish. The uninhabited islands of Pulau Tujuh Belas are surrounded by white sand beaches and turquoise water. You will spend the day in this oasis. After breakfast you will be taken to the most beautiful snorkeling spots of Pulau Tujuh Belas via a local fishing boat. Your tour guide knows the currents and guides you while snorkeling. A fresh lunch is prepared locally on the beach. In the afternoon you will return to Riung. Overnight in Riung.
Day 5. Riung – Menggeruda hotsprings – Wolobobo – Bajawa
After breakfast, the journey continues to Bajawa. Prepare for a long drive through vulcanic sceneries and mountain passes. On the way you will stop at Menggeruda hotspring where you can bathe. The water is warm and the vulcanic water is said to have medicinal properties. Before sunset, stop in Wolobobo, which offers a panoramic view of central Flores and the ocean. Wolobobo is so high in the mountains that you can see the sunset from the clouds. Arrival at hotel Manulalu: characteristic cottages overlooking the majestic vulcanic landscape. Overnight here.
Day 6. Bajawa – Ngada traditional villages – Malanage hotsprings – Bajawa
After breakfast your driver and tour guide are ready to show you around ‘Ngadha’ region for an unique walking tour. You visit traditional villages of the ethnic Ngada people. In the mountainous environment of Bajawa, the Ngada settled in strategic locations for generations. From here they had a grand view and could see enemy tribes approaching from afar. Tribal wars regularly took place here, using black magic and traditional weapons to defeat the enemy. Your tour guide will have lunchboxes with indonesian food and fruit prepared for a picnic. You will visit several traditional villages. The driver drops you and your tour guide off in Luba village, from where the journey continues by foot. Here are other traditional villages to be explored called ‘Bena’, ‘Tololela’ and ‘Gurusina’. These well preserved traditional villages are isolated from the larger towns by their location up in the mountains. The walking tour is not difficult but because of the mountain landscape and high altitude requires comfortable walking shoes and a normal condition. Your tour guide will remind you to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
In Gurusina is the meeting point with your driver and ends the walking tour. You will proceed your adventure by car to Malanage river and hot springs. Refresh and take a dip in the cold river or relax in the warm hot springs. The soft river splashing and forest sounds blends into a melody that’ll soothe your mind and body. Day 8. Ruteng – Spiderweb ricefields – Dintor beach
After breakfast you will depart from Ruteng. For lunch, we picnic in the spiderweb rice fields. The rice fields owe their name to the shape in which the land is divided: each farmer has a ‘dot’ of land and seen from above, this division gives the illusion of a spider web. After the picnic you will visit Dintor beach before arriving at your bungalow for the night. The bungalow is surrounded by peaceful rice fields. From here you can relax and enjoy nature surrounding you. Overnight stay in Dintor.
Day 9. Dintor – Wae Rebo

The trekking takes about 3 hours through the cool rainforest. While you walk you will be serenaded by the tropical birds and you can refresh yourself in the fresh river water. Once you arrive in Wae Rebo, you will participate in local activities so that you can get a good idea of the way of life and customs in this village. Together with your guide, you can share stories and culture with the local residents of Wae Rebo. Overnight in Wae Rebo.

This is one of the most beautiful islands of Komodo National Park. The climb of about 30 minutes is well worth it: from here you have a unique view over the many coastlines with its white beaches and the typical landscape of Komodo.
